I can't follow a friend, why is this?

This is usually because that friend has made their profile private. If they have done this, then you will not be able to follow their progress even if they follow you.

When a friend’s profile is set to private in Gizmo, it stops others from following them. This privacy setting ensures that only approved followers can access their profile and content. As a result, any follow action will not take effect unless the profile owner adjusts their privacy settings.

To change this, speak to your friend and get them to make their profile public so you can follow them. They can then make it private again after you have followed them.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Ask your friend to temporarily change their profile privacy setting to Public
If your friend has additional privacy settings, such as private decks, they may also need to adjust these settings temporarily.

  2. Follow your friend while their profile is set to Public
Once the follow action is completed, it will remain effective even if the profile is later set back to Private.

  3. Optional: Approve follow requests if required
In some cases, private profiles may require manual approval of follow requests. Ensure your friend checks and approves your request if necessary.
