Highlighting is the system that powers quizzing. The words you highlight on your cards are what Gizmo will quiz you on in Memorise mode.
When you import cards using Magic Import, Gizmo automatically highlights certain words in green. These are the words it thinks are best to quiz you on. You can change these at any time.
📝 Highlighting uses a progressive testing model. At first, only some highlighted words are blanked out when quizzing on new cards. As you get familiar with those words, more will be blanked out.
Adding a highlight
Go to the card you want to edit and click on any word to highlight it in green.
To highlight more than one word, click and drag across them. For example, to be quizzed on a full name, click the first name and drag to the surname:
Removing a highlight
To remove a highlight, click on the green highlighted word. This will clear it so you can add a new one.

How are highlights used in quizzes?
When you use Memorise mode, Gizmo blanks out your highlighted words and quizzes you on them. In the example below, Gizmo will ask about the regions the countries are based in.
You could be asked a multiple choice question or asked to type the answer, depending on the question type you've selected.
