Magic Import turns your existing notes and study materials into flashcards automatically, with no manual typing required. Just give Gizmo your content and it'll generate cards and highlight the key words for you.
How do I use Magic Import?
Open a deck and tap Add, then select Magic Import. Choose your source from the list and follow the steps. Gizmo will handle the rest.
What can I import from?
Magic Import supports a wide range of sources:
PDF: upload lecture notes, textbook pages, or any PDF
Recording: record a lecture or lesson and Gizmo will transcribe and generate cards from it
Notes: paste in text directly
Photos: take a photo of handwritten notes or a whiteboard
PowerPoint: upload a presentation file
Quizlet: import a set directly from Quizlet
Anki: import an existing Anki deck
Spreadsheet: upload a CSV or spreadsheet file
Website: paste in a URL and Gizmo will pull content from the page
What happens after I import?
Gizmo creates cards automatically and highlights key words in green. These are what you'll be quizzed on in Memorise mode. It's always worth reviewing the imported deck to check everything looks right and adding any cards manually if something's been missed.
💡 For large documents, try importing in smaller sections. This gives Gizmo more focus and reduces the chance of anything being skipped.
Are there any limits?
On the free plan, you'll need to wait 20 minutes between imports. Sign up for Unlimited to remove the wait and import as much as you like.
