XP can be gained by completing lessons with the AI Tutor, completing active recall quizzes in Memorise or quizzing with your friends in Gizmo Live mode.
Every time you get a question right, you'll earn XP. The faster you answer, the more you gain!
The only exception is Flashcards only mode. As you're not being quizzed, XP isn't awarded.
Troubleshooting XP and levelling issues
If your XP isn't increasing or your level isn't updating:
Check that you are using Memorise or Gizmo Live mode.
Make sure your quiz settings include recall-testing question types and not Flashcards only.

Your XP also determines your ranking in Leagues.
